Galadriel stepped closer, watching Halbrand sitting on a wall of stones near the harbor. „What are you still waiting for?“ Her voice calm as ever, but he noticed the annoyed undertone. „The shadows have started to fall again.“
He looked up, smiling. „Maybe I am not the one who can change the tide of events. I tried it once...“
Her eyes were resting on the small emblem on his belt. „Nevertheless, you are still the king of the South. People living there are not evil by heart, but they need a guide. Or they will fail again, and the darkness will come back over the world.“
The smile on his face vanished. „The darkness never was gone. It exists in all of us, all the time, waiting for its moment.“
