He had always known that he would end in the fabric factory one day, like his grandfather, his father, his brothers, and friends. Everything else was just a pipedream; he would never go to Notre Dame, and turn into a famous football player; he was not smart enough and much too small.
But when his eighteenth birthday got closer, and it was about time finally to leave his dreams behind and face reality, he suddenly knew, that at least he had to give it a try, even if it meant to disappoint his parents and to leave everything behind what had meant home for him for his whole life.
